Luis began to study trumpet in his hometown under Manuel Campos and Eduardo Tarín. He then entered the Joaquín Rodrigo Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia where he studied under Leopoldo Vidal. He continued his studies in Paris (France) where he studied privately with Pierre Thibaud, and in Malmö (Sweden) with Bo Nilsson.
He has frequently appeared with many Spanish orchestras: Extremadura Orchestra, Queen Sofía Chamber Orchestra, Murcia Symphony, Cadaqués Orchestra, Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, Asturias Symphony. He is currently collaborating with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam (Nederlands).
He has also been a jury member for many international competitions: Lieksa Brass Week (Finland), Latin American Trumpet Competition (Colombia), International Competition for Brass at the Higher Institute of Music and Pedagogy of Namur (Belgium), Juan García Marín International Trumpet Competition in Anna, Valencia (Spain).
His extensive trumpet trajectory includes many appearances as a teacher for masterclasses in many schools and universities and international festivals all over the world: Oporto Conservatory of Music (Portugal), Epsival International Brass and Percussion Academy in Limoges (France), International Trumpet Academy du Grand Nord de la France, Trumpet Days at the Luxembourg Conservatory, National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance of Lyon (France), National University of Colombia, University of Music Karlsruhe (Germany), Latin American Trumpet Academy in Caracas (Venezuela), International University of Andalucía (Spain). He is also frequently called upon to teach and coach at many Spanish youth orchestras as a brass specialist: Spanish National Youth Orchestra, Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, Higher School of Music of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia.
