Biography

Federico Torres Jr. began his trumpet studies under his father, Federico Torres, the famous and influential trumpet player from Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.

After completing his studies Federico Jr. began to freelance with artists such as Luis Miguel, Manuel Mijares and Pepe Chávez' Mariachi Oro y Plata until he decided to pursue a career in education.

He is the co-author, along with his father Federico Torres, of the only book of Mariachi trumpet technique, called Fedes which is used by Texas State University (USA) and the New York City Mariachi Conservatory (USA).
